Shop much?

A year or so ago, I purchased a few items from what used to be SheInside.com.  They have since changed their name to SheIn.com and have also changed a few things about they clothing they sell.  For one, it no longer appears to be sized for 12-year old girls.  At least 12-year old American girls!  Seriously, though.  A few of the pieces I got the first time around were sized incredibly small.  I’m not tall, but these definitely did not appear to be clothes that should be worn by regular-sized women.

Cut to a month ago: I noticed that lots bloggers were wearing SheIn clothing again.  So, I decided to give them another try.  Boy, am I glad I did!  They have on-trend items, which are quite affordably-priced.  Here are a few of the items I got:

Every item from SheIn worn in the photos above was less than $20!  The skirt was only $14 if that gives you a sense of the affordability.  The one caveat about shopping on SheIn.com is that you have to be very aware of the sizing when ordering.  Although they have gotten better about catering to American body types, sizing does still vary by item and some items are one-size fits all or may change depending on the cut for the garment.  That said, I was able to stick to small’s and medium’s for the most part.  Note that I am also somewhat vertically challenged, so items like the blue and white tunic dress might fit others more like a tunic top than a tunic dress, haha.  Finally, shipping times can vary from days to 1-2 weeks.  To ease your anxiety, SheIn provides tracking information so you can plan receipt of your package accordingly! 🙂

Otherwise, I say, go wild and fill up your online shopping cart!  It’s a great place to back-to-school shop for teenagers, college students, and even young professionals like myself.  Wait…am I still considered a young professional!?  Gawd, I hope so!  😛

Until next time!  Stay ‘Chic’!

Pinspired Navy Work Outfits

Inspiration for my work outfits comes from many places, although Pinterest provides a great deal of inspiration on a daily basis.  I have an entire board dedicated to ideas/inspiration for my work outfits.  Since I surmise that not everyone who reads my blog has a Pinterest account, it behooves me to share some of my favorites with you in this post!  Here are some ideas for putting together outfits for work with a navy color palette.

Thrifty Thursday’s – Office Wear

You may recall that I recently wrote a post about my experience while shopping at a thrift store.  In that post, I describe how I managed to get two outfits – including shoes – for under $20!  I was pretty amazed myself!

Well, I’ve since become very excited about thrifting, so when Natasha from Baby T Fashion Diaries approached me about a second thrifting challenge, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to thrift again. 🙂

This time, we wanted to focus on items that a woman would wear to the office.  Office-appropriate outfits, if you will.  We did not set a budget, there weren’t any rules at all, really.  What we did agree to do, was to purchase an outfit that we could each wear to the office..from a thrift store.  Simple enough, right?

Check out what we found:

My thrift store finds:

  • Ann Taylor Jacket/Blazer $2.50
  • Banana Republic Wrinkle Free top $2.50
  • Gap pleated midi-skirt $3

TOTAL COST: $8

All items were purchased at the Salvation Army.

Shoes and necklace were not thrifted, however the necklace is from Forever 21 (old, about $8), earrings are from TJ Maxx (old, $10), and slingback heels are from the Nine West outlet (recent, $15).

My sweet friend Natasha found a fab outfit as well!  See for your self:

Natashas thrift picDoesn’t she look great!  A very office-appropriate outfit indeed.  Check out her blog and Instagram for details on her amazing finds!

What do you think?!  I am personally LOVING these thrifting challenges and hopeful to find some more amazing finds in the future.

Until next time!  Stay chic!
