Easy Peasy Lemon Chicken

The rain was constant throughout the day today.  Fall is officially here, though it definitely felt a bit like winter today with the persistent rain and cold temps.  On days like today, hubby either asks me to make White Bean Chili (recipe for a different post) or Lemon Chicken for dinner.  As I had most of the ingredients for Lemon Chicken already, I decided to go with that for the night.  I posted a pic of the plate on Instagram and got some requests for the recipe, so here it goes!

The recipe is SUPER simple and doesn’t take a ton of time to make.  Maybe an hour perhaps?  Definitely something you want to make on the weekend.  I happened to have made the chicken a day before, so all I had to do was make the sauce today.  So, it maybe took me 30 minutes to make dinner tonight.  Btw, mashed potatoes were store bought and broccoli was frozen and heated in the microwave.  It’s the way of life these days, my friends.  Efficiency. 😉

Let me know if you make this recipe at home!  I taste as I go, but I think the proportions are pretty accurate.  Definitely taste as you go as well in case you need to modify any of the steps listed above.  Good luck and happy eating, friends!!

Fall Fashion under $40

Disclaimer:  Financial compensation was not received for this post. A sample product was gifted from AMI Clubwear. Opinions expressed here are my own.

There are no hard fast rules for dressing for fall.  I say, wear whatever fits and matches.  I haven’t done a whole lot of shopping lately, but I have managed to find a few pieces that I am in love with for fall.  Here are some of those for you to consider:

Floral Dress, http://chicinacademia.comDress:  H&M, $14.99 // Boots: AMI Clubwear, $21.99 // Belt: Old, Hollister, similar here // Bag: Old, Bass Outlet, similar here

Fringe boots, http://chicinacademia.comBooties:  AMI Clubwear

Can I just tell you how excited I was to find a dress in a print for fall and for less than $15?!  It is super, super comfortable and not form-fitting so, perfect for less-than-perfect abdominal areas!  It has a variety of colors you could match it with, so also quite versatile that way.

Now, the booties.  I’d searched for a pair of fringe booties for a while, but had not come across any that met my price threshold.  These were the right color for fall, but also the right price.  They are also super comfy!!  I sized up about a half size as I tend to do with most boots, so I would say buy as you would other boots.

The belt is SUPER old, but I linked a similar one above.  The bag, I bought for $5 from the Bass Outlet at my local outlet mall, though a similar bag is also linked above.

Put a Bow on it

One of the things I love most about fashion is that a single accessory can completely change the look of an outfit. Today’s outfit is a classic example.  I had planned to wear the top and skirt alone, but felt like something was missing.  Then…I put a bow it.

Bow, http://chicinacademia.com

The bow is from Asos and is simply AH-maze-ing.  Love it and always get so many compliments on it!  It’s a bowtie, so there is no actual tying, which is perfect for me because I am bow-tying challenged. Below is the bow I purchased, along with other versions available on the website.

Aren’t they super fun??  A great alternative to the classic statement necklace.  Let me know if you end up purchasing any of these and how you decide to style it/them.  If you are on Instagram, feel free to tag me!  I’ll regram them on my personal instagram account in a outfit recap post. 🙂

Have a great weekend, friends!  Get lots of rest and remember to take some time away from technology to spend quality time with the ones you love.  ❤
