Thirfty Thursday’s with Sira & Mara

You know that I’m always on the look out for steals and deals, so this week I’m featuring a company I recently became a big fan of: Sira & Mara!  I’ve followed them on Instagram for a while and recently purchased a couple of their items.  I have to say, the prices are unbeatable AND the quality is amazing for the price!  Check out one of the scarves I got recently:

Screen Shot 2014-12-04 at 7.11.01 PMThe scarf is SUPER warm and cozy!!  I love that the entire scarf is lined with fringe, and that it’s an infinity scarf.  Often when scarves are not, I have a hard time styling them and instead they look like a failed attempt at wearing a scarf.  It could be simply because I’m from LA and never had to deal with “truly” cold weather, or it could be that I’m truly talentless when it comes to scarves.  Ha!  Anyway, you get the picture.

So, the scarf.  It’s $19.99, which in my my opinion is at the perfect price point for a holiday present!  It’s a nice neutral color, so it would be loved by all…I think.

The other item I ordered was this adorable turquoise spear necklace.  I looked for a necklace like this one all summer, so I snatched it up the minute I saw it on the Sira & Mara website.

Screen Shot 2014-12-04 at 7.23.27 PM Screen Shot 2014-12-04 at 7.20.44 PMThis necklace is only $12.99!  A steal for this type of necklace!  AND, this company offers free shipping for all US orders.  Often, when online companies offer discounted items, the shipping is what gets you.  In this case, you only pay taxes on top of your subtotal, so it’s quite a deal!  Perfect for a thrifty shopper like yourself.

Here are a couple of my other faves:

Pretty awesome finds, right?!  Hope this helps fill some of those holiday shopping voids on your holiday checklist.  In the meantime, let me know what you think of these items OR if you ended up buying some for yourself or others.  Happy Shopping, friends.

Until next time!  Stay Chic!

It’s All About The Boots

The minute the temperature dropped below 70 degrees Fahrenheit, I brought my boots out to play!  Ugg boots, ankle boots, knee high boots, over the knee boots, black boots, brown boots…you name them, I have them.  After all, you know what they say…if the boot fits, buy it!  So, often, I do. That’s IS what they say, right??  Hehehehe!

Anyway, last week, a group of bloggers and I decided to get together and style boots for fall!  Often, people are unsure about what to wear boots, so today we’re styling our own as a ‘how-to-wear-boots’ guide for the fall/winter.

I decided to pair my knee-high boots with a faux-leather skirt, long-sleeved top, and 3/4 length coat.  Heels with a skirt that falls above the knee can’t possibly be warm enough for end-of-fall/winter’s-eve weather.  So boots are a nice way to add some warmth and coverage, without having to wear pants!

Finally, as mentioned, I’m excited to have partnered with three other bloggers who have also styled boots for the fall on their blogs!  Check out my friends Claudia of The Penny Closet, Paulina of Lil Bits of Chic, and Silvia of Spanish Muse below (left to right).

Hope this post helps inspire you to find new ways to style your boots for cooler temps.  Comment below with your favorite boot style, how you prefer to wear your boots in the fall or winter, or simply to tell me what you thought of this post. You can also check out my daily outfits on Instagram, source of inspiration on Pinterest, and latest musings and retweets on Twitter. Finally, don’t forget to stop by my friends’ blogs (see above for links) for additional inspiration!  Have a fantastic weekend, friends!!

Thrifty Thursday’s – Calypso St. Barth’s Friends and Family Sale

There’s a great sale going on at Calypso St. Barth, so I just had to share it with you!  It began yesterday, October 22nd, but will run through Sunday, October 26th so there is still plenty of time to shop! 🙂  I was actually at Calypso St. Barth for the launch of the Friends and Family sale last night, offering styling tips and helping pick out pieces for the fall.  It was so much fun!  So, I thought I would do the same for you in this post. But first, let me tell you about my outfit of the night (aka #ootn).  I wore a pair of Calypso St. Barth sequin pants (currently on sale!) that I purchased a while back for next to nothing during another one of their sales:

In Birmingham, the launch of the Friends and Family sale also coincided with the Shop and Share event, hosted by the Junior League of Birmingham, with social media coverage by B-Metro magazine. I’ve shared my love for Calypso St. Barth with you all previously, and also mentioned how pricey the store can be.  I believe I also mentioned how amazing their sales can be too, though!  There are some fantastic items on sale now in stores, but also many that can be found online.  One of the things I like to do when shopping sales is to plan ahead and shop for the following year.  So, for example, there are some amazing summer items for sale at Calypso St Barth right now.  They are incredibly affordable after the Friends and Family, 25% off discount.  To save you some time, I’ve curated some outfit ideas for you!  Take a look at some of the “looks” I styled for you at three different price points:

Otherwise, feel free to order on your own, online, using promo code FRIENDS14.  Let me know if you end up getting anything from the sale!  I’d love to hear about your bargain finds!!  Finally, for those of you wondering, the winner of the denim giveaway was announced on Instagram two weeks ago.  Congratulations to Nancy Wander!!
