I mentioned to a friend this week that the heels I was wearing were Rockport and she replied in awe, ” REALLY?! I didn’t know Rockport made heels!” Well, yes, they do! AND, they are amazing.
Rockport started out as a father/son company in 1971. The question that drove their uniquely comfortable shoe design was, “Why aren’t there dress and casual shoes as comfortable as sneakers?” Since then, they have focused their efforts on designing dress shoes with built-in sport technology.
In academia, teaching, medicine, and really any ‘office job, one is always on the hunt for comfortable, but also aesthetically pleasing heels/shoes. Well, look no further. THESE, my friends, are soon to become your faves too.
I received two pairs of shoes to try and let me tell you, they are incredibly comfortable to wear. I wore the heels pictured above and below two days in a row! I walked from building to building without wanting to rip them off my feet at the end of the day. They have a variety of colors and textures, but I chose these blue suede heels to add a pop to my outfits. Now I want them in every color!

It’s that time of year! The Junior League of Birmingham (JLB) is hosting it’s annual Shop, Save, Share event! Starting October 21st, you can save 20% at a variety of retailers in the Birmingham metro area.
For the tenth year in a row, the Junior League of Birmingham will hold its Shop Save & Share program. This fundraiser supports the League’s 34 community projects while at the same time driving customers to local retailers and restaurants.
When someone purchases a Shop Save & Share card for $40, they receive a 20% discount on merchandise and dining at the fundraiser’s more than 550 participating stores and restaurants throughout greater Birmingham. For 2015, The JLB have the highest number of Shop Save & Share supporters ever including business participants from Trussville to Hoover from The Summit to the 280 Corridor, as well as the communities of Homewood, Mtn. Brook, Vestavia Hills and many others.
This year’s Shop Save & Share program will run from October 21 through November 1, and the purchase of one Shop, Save and Share donation does the following:
-Provides one student the opportunity to participate in the College Admissions Made Possible program.
-Provides one week of snacks, magazines, books to mothers restricted to bed rest in the UAB NICU.
-Provides one child who is suffering from “under nutrition” to have food provided to them for the weekends for an entire school year.
-Provides 1.5 children one book per month for 5 years through Better Basics & JLB Imagination Library.
